Marketplaces ask sellers for a Romanian EPR registration number before a listing can stay live. The number is not something a platform issues: it comes from being registered as a producer in Romania for the streams your products fall under, and from being contracted to a licensed take-back organisation.
A Romanian EPR registration number is the identifier a company receives once it is registered in Romania as a producer for a given waste stream, such as packaging, electrical and electronic equipment, or batteries. It is issued through the Romanian producer registration route for that stream, not by a marketplace. A company established in another country obtains it either through its own Romanian registration or through an authorised representative established in Romania, who registers, reports and pays on its behalf.
It proves that a named company is on the Romanian producer record for a specific stream and that its recycling obligation is covered by a licensed organisation. One number per stream is the normal situation: packaging, electrical equipment and batteries are separate registrations, and a seller of electronics in a carton needs more than one.
It does not prove that reporting is up to date. Registration and reporting are two different duties, and a registered company that files nothing is still non-compliant.
We look at your product list and packaging to decide which streams apply. This is written, free, and takes a couple of working days.
If you have no Romanian entity, you sign a mandate appointing us as authorised representative for the streams in scope.
We register the producer for each stream and contract the licensed organisation that covers the recycling targets.
You receive the registration details to enter in Seller Central, eMAG or your own compliance file.

Yes, if you place packaged goods, electrical equipment or batteries on the Romanian market. The platform asks for the registration details, and the underlying legal obligation to register, report and pay exists regardless of whether the platform asks.
No. A LUCID number covers Germany only. Romania requires its own producer registration and its own monthly reporting, even if your products are already registered elsewhere in the EU.
In practice a matter of weeks from a signed mandate, depending on how quickly product and packaging data is available. We tell you the expected timeline in the written assessment before you commit.
No. A company established abroad can appoint an authorised representative established in Romania, who registers and reports on its behalf.
Send us your product and packaging types and roughly how much you ship to Romania. We reply with the obligations that apply to you and what registration would involve.
