Selling on a marketplace into Romania

Two separate things get confused here. The platform runs a compliance check and may ask you for a registration number before you can list. Romanian law, separately, requires you to be registered, to cover recycling targets and to declare quantities monthly. Passing the platform's check does not discharge the legal duty, and the platform will not file anything for you unless it says so explicitly in writing.

Questions to answer before you assume you are covered

Who ships the parcel to the Romanian customer — you, or the platform's logistics?
Whose packaging surrounds the product when it arrives?
Does the platform state in writing that it assumes the Romanian obligation for your flow?
Are you selling in Romania only through the platform, or through your own shop as well?
Does the platform's declared responsibility cover packaging only, or also electrical equipment and batteries?

How we handle marketplace sellers

We read the platform's own compliance statement for your flow, establish exactly which quantities remain yours to declare, register you and run the monthly reporting on those quantities. Where the platform genuinely assumes an obligation, we say so and leave it out — you should not pay twice.

Where a listing has already been restricted, the fastest route is the registration itself: once you are in the Romanian register, the number the platform is asking for exists.
