EPR in Romania: every producer obligation, in one place
Extended producer responsibility in Romania is not one registration. It is a separate obligation per product stream, each with its own register, its own reporting cycle and its own payment. If you ship goods to Romanian customers, you are the producer for every stream your products touch — most often packaging, and quite often electrical equipment or batteries as well.

A product can fall under several streams at once. A cordless kitchen device sold in a printed box with a lithium battery is packaging, electrical equipment and batteries — three registrations, three reporting lines, one shipment.
What is the same across all streams
- The obligation is triggered by placing the product on the Romanian market, not by having a company in Romania.
- A seller with no establishment in Romania acts through an authorised representative here.
- Quantities are reported by weight and by material or category, not by number of orders.
- Registration in your home country does not cover Romania, and vice versa.
- Periods that were never declared can be reviewed retroactively, with interest.
